BREATHING/TURNING

presented at ADVENTITIOUS ENCOUNTERS, OPEN SPACE CONTEMPORARY 2018

INHALE

Breathing/Turning

Can you see me?

Counting to ten

With my eyes closed

as the music

enters our world,

the earth slips one inch

to the left,

in this motion,

the ground appears more spherical

like a room of speakers

and silent listeners,

speaking in the micro

dust gathering

at their feet

  chance

reduced,

our layered self,

external to our outer surroundings

the flora in bloom

the mother is to listen

to, us

breathing.

What is it you hear?

new echoes?

a voice upon itself,

between scaffolding

a voice upon itself,

and the summit.

not to be shared, our voices

contained, our voices

and at their weakest point, our voices

here,  distant

you,  in the dark garden

myself,  underneath your foot

I fear,  as fear

As I feel,  you fear

Can you feel our residue?
